When I joined the military and went away some people called it pop, a few called it Coke, but most people called it soda. I started calling it soda in a very sarcastic way to friends and honestly over time it became normal for me. So even after I got out on the military and came back home I still call it soda, and now I'm the only one. It still feels natural to call it soda.
