I've often wondered what a "Persona USA" would look like. The story would need to be paced differently to account for the American school year (Late August to early June compared to Late April - March). And they'd have to account for American holidays and American summer vacation (maybe the "beach episode" could take place during Spring Break?) And that our high schools are 4 years instead of 3 years (would the protagonists be sophomores or juniors?)

I wouldn't want Atlus to make it since they likely would have no knowledge of how American teenager life is so maybe they could give their blessing to an American game dev studio to do it. The one requirement being it keeps a cute anime art style, not boring Western "realism"! And keep Debra Wilson away!

I dunno, might be a tough sell. American teen drama can come off as cringe compared to Japanese teen drama. I couldn't answer why that is. What do you think?

american youth culture woudlnt allow for it w/o a momentous suspension of disbelief. americans/american culture does not trust young people to do half the shit present in a single persona day

I don't know. Xenoblade Chronicles X had a place inspired by "Los Angeles", and yet it got soo much wrong about it. They'll definately need really good consultant who knows the American area they're going to be basing off the setting in for it to work.

There will someday be one. It will be an indie game though. But I I wouldn't be surprised if someone is already quietly working on one

as someone that went to a rural high school, yeah. I mean Persona 4 reminded me in oblique ways of my high school life.

Walmart was where we hung out. It was the only Walmart in like 40 miles too.

Easily. The series is quite international already with the demons/persona it uses. It doesn't have to take place in Japan. It probably always will as that's what the writers know but it doesn't have to.

Persona's five's main villain (for most of the game as he's not the final boss) isn't much different from a corrupt American politician as some things are universal.

But aside from that it could work easily. Although things are a lot more spread out in the US so theyd have to choose the city and area very carefully.
