Taylor swift, who is threatening to sue the "Elon Musk Jet Tracker" dude for doing the same thing to her (parsing publicly available information, and posting it), apparently is allowed to fly her private jet so much because she buys carbon credits to offset it.

Whatever carbon credits are, i don't think they are working as originally intended. You can't plug holes in the ozone layer with carbon credits!

Carbon credits are the capitalist way to hide emissions by pushing them to unregulated markets.

Tesla's primary business model is selling carbon credits to polluters so the polluters can get away with polluting and then lie about "going green."

My understanding is the company turns around and either plants trees/vegetation for the amount that is purchased or pays someone else to. There are also carbon removal services that pull carbon dioxide from the air.
