I actually wouldn't mind if the series sorta continued with the Helena character. Oddly she feels inspired by the characters from Uncharted, which was inspired BY Indiana Jones in general. Phoebe Waller-Bridge did a great job of sorta being both this slimy little treasure hunter while also really underneath it all legitimately loving history.

I'm sorta mixed on the fact that they DID go back in time but writing it in that Archamedes built it ONLY to bring people back to his time to help win the war (the same thing that Dr. Voller in essence was trying to do) is a neat wrinkle to it. It could never do anything more than that.

I thought that the tech they used to do the younger Indy stuff worked pretty well, it didn't really distract me in the least.

I think overall it was better than Crystal Skull, but behind the first three. If this IS the final Indiana Jones for Harrison Ford, it is a better send-off than Crystal Skull was.

Wombat was charming. I would be fine with her starring in a spinoff with Indy as an avuncular figure in the background.

That seems to be the general consensus.

It actually seems like they were originally going to have Phoebe Waller bridge carry the torch but fans were pissed because they're tired of the "your favorite hero is old and sucks now" trope. Some also thought it was disrespectful how Indy was just a miserable old man who wanted to stay in the past and die, they killed off his son (So he can't go on adventures with Indy) and they made his wife divorce him (So she can't go on adventures with Indy).

As far as I'm concerned, Indiana Jones only consists of three movies.
