I have an 83% chance of attacking and killing an enemy Chocobo. I attack it and miss, then he counter attacks me for like 35 HP dmg. And then it becomes its turn and then it attacks me for 35 HP dmg killing my unit and then runs away to safety. LMAO

Don't fuck with chocobos

FFT is probably my favorite FF of all but at the same time, It's the least one I would ever want to replay.

There's two solutions.
Attack from the side or rear, then you have 100% chance to hit.
Attack from a distance with spells/rocks/bows,so you don't get countered.

Also, 35 is pretty high damage for early game, and likely due to zodiac compatibility, so you're probably doing a lot of damage to it as well.

It's early game bro we're all squires and chemists. Making monks and black mages asap to fucking ruin this game.

Chocobos are pretty strong in FFT with their crazy mobility and their self healing

Yeah their only weakness is they are glass cannons and gotta kill them quick before they get a chance to do any action

Killing Demons one day, got wiped by a horde of Chocobos spamming Meteor the next day.

Are they really even glass cannons. Their cures are nice enough, their movement, and as demonstrated... counter is an ok reaction to have.

Amongst all units in fft, all chocobos are mid or above average.

I don't think I've ever seen a game be so freaking difficult early/mid game ish and then so laughably easy later on even with Orlandu on the bench.

Sure orlandu wrecks towards the end of the game but you can turn Boco into an army of red chocobos early....

Never tried the chocobo strategy lmao a lot of ppl were way more clever than me and I thought I could think outside the box.

I thought you were gonna talk about how the first chapter is incredible because of the complex character motivations, the grounded-in-reality story etc., and then it kinda degenerates into demonic forces and whatnot. I do love the game

To be honest. When I watched a recap of the story of FFT. I was like wow this story gets really stupid later on. Back then I just took it for granted and rolled with it but all the demonic forces and stuff, gets a bit much.

A Summoner with Thunder Rod and Ramuh mows over the early game of FFT. At least up to Barius Hill where their still strong but the ai brings out nastier teams

In WotL Orlandu isn't even the most op character anymore. It's Agrias with Dark Knight job. Meliadoul #2. They can use perfume and Orlandu can't.

Gotta box in those chocobos, man.

I couldn't figure out how to get new jobs. I thought you had to recruit them in towns

I was well after dorter trade city before I figured out how to get to the character customization screen lmao

It was one of my first RPGs and my first strategy RPG, but also I was (am) a moron

Got Monks and Mages going, it's super duper easy as soon as you get these going.

You forgot to say what "FFT" is. There's thousands of games out there. We don't automatically know what an acronym means. It would be different if someone mentions "SM64" on a Mario board or "ALttP" on a The Legend of Zelda board, but this is a general board.

I prefer doing challenge runs to making the game easy personally. Doing the Geomancer SSCC (Ramza only, limited to geomancer job with no secondary skillset) was a ton of fun, even if it kicked my ass a lot. Velius and Gafgarion were crazy hard and took so many tries. I eventually gave up on the fight against Dycedarg

My bad. I also used dmg in my first post. Hopefully you understood that-that was a shorten word for damage.

Yeah, as soon as you can get Monks with Chakra, you can start turning chocobos into JP-generation engines. I guess you can use just about any enemy, but if you surround yellows properly, they heal everyone with a better vertical tolerance than Chakra, so...there's that.
