Secondly it's more about how Joker is perceived in this case than the overall character, which is highly variable in edgyness. TDK and Joker are popular enough to warp perception. Pretty much every parody Ive seen makes their character around him super edgy too (The Boys, Invincible come to mind). His character is too built around humor, and I dont think many ten year olds are like aw yeah Joker/Jared Leto is cool!. They leaned into it really hard for a while, but it was always there.
