Mario Kart 64? Because DKR doesnt have rubberband AI, and you clearly don't know what that term even means.

At least in normal races. The trophy races may have had rubber banding, but once you get ahead, you stay ahead in normal races.

Yeah, Mario Kart 64 is way worse for rubber band AI.

If you shoot an opponent with a shell as they're going over one of the ramps in Wario's stage, it should fix them for good because they have to cover a third of the race track all over again. Wait thirty seconds and they'll be right up on your tail again.

I liked driving around the hub world more than doing the races

I get the feeling that one of the producers -- probably Ken Lobb -- was desperately afraid that someone might beat it as a rental.

As a kid, and as a teen, I could never beat WizPig. The acceleration trick is mentioned in passing in one easily skippable cutscene and is vital for beating him. Even after committing that missing piece of the puzzle to memory, it still took me the better part of two hours to beat him. The rematch took half as long, but that was still a chunk of time to devote to one boss race.
