I enjoyed Kill the Justice League overall, but yeah it's a 6-7 game from a dev that used to make games that influenced other devs.

Somehow the steam reviews are in the positive range. But there's wasn't many when I checked.

Yeah, I've played on both PC and Xbox as well. Third person shooters at the AAA level are somewhat rare, but one of my favorite genres, so I had fun. Traversal is like an in-between of City of Heroes and Sunset Overdrive, both older games I loved.

The story is nonsense and the gameplay loop isn't very engaging (side missions suck), so the scores are fair.

Because I had fun and don't always trust the rabid internet mobs. Also I was just testing it on PC, so I refunded after 2 hours. Saves are cross-platform so it wasn't wasted progression time.

Also see above for the Steam impressions, cause that's pretty interesting that the ones actually playing seem to enjoy it. Maybe reviewers were just pissed they had to wait until Monday/Tuesday when the servers were turned on.

Never even heard of this but the Arkham games were good so bummer if they decided to stop making good games

Sounds like it's enjoyable enough if you like the Arkham games, even if it's lacking in single player areas those games usually aren't, but otherwise it's being judged very harshly since it's a GaaS style game.

That only affected New Zealanders and people who pretended to be New Zealanders for about 1 hour Monday morning. Servers went down for like 5 hours, came back up and smooth sailing since.

The story is only 9-10 hours so that's one other knock on it for some people. Though to me, that's the sweet spot. $7-10 an hour for fun? Fuck it I'm in. But I also like to replay games and apparently they are obligated to do like 4 seasons of (free) additional content, with more playable characters and whatnot.

Yeah this. I played the game and I personally give it a 7/10. The main 4 cast have great chemistry with each other and the game has enough chaos thrown at you to make the multiplayer fairly decent for story mode. But yeah almost anything negative I have about the game is the GaaS stuff.

And who the fuck actually like Suicide Squad? Did they get that idea because people watched the movie? People watched the movie to see Margot Robbie.

Suicide Squad is a very popular concept, which is why they made the movies in the first place. And then the movies spawned atleast a few popular characters, even beyond Harley, such as Peacemaker. It's basically one of the hottest DC properties, currently, casual-wise, so it makes sense to try a game based on it.

It hardly has any reviews from notable people tho

The Arkhamverse is an alternate storyline. I agree that having this be the Arkhamverse's swan song is ridiculous though.

Normally, they may not have. However, ever since WB was bought by Discovery, that guy has literally been on record saying he hopes to focus entirely on things like the "90 Day Fiance Universe," since it's an incredibly cheaply made show that, unfortunately, gets a lot of viewers.

I checked the steam charts and while it is one of the top sellers it doesn't even crack the top 100 played games. Im thinking it has a very positive review because people just didnt buy it this time, leaving the review numbers low, and those that did were going to love it no matter what.

That makes more sense to me as well. Most of use knew how the game was going to be either from leaks or word of mouth so potential buyers just avoided something that didn't appeal to them.

Remember that the release was staggered, so you were never going to get a concurrent number comparable to regular launches. And people couldn't add their reviews until yesterday, thus you probably missed a LOT who refunded or moved on already lol (though maybe this does explain the lack of more negative ones)

Someone on the Steam forums was saying it sold around 20k which is not good. Most big AAA releases are in the number one spot for sellers and Suicide Squad was sitting at 5 when I saw it last. Palworld is number one and thats a outlier right now but Persona 3, Enshrouded and Granblue are also ahead in sales.

Steamspy is not a reliable metric and has not been one for like 6 years. Even the firms dedicated to tracking sales do not have foolproof methods in the digital age.

The game is a colossal failure, I'm not arguing against that...I'm just concerned that people misconstrue things and deliberately look for ways to make them sound worse. Youtube rage bait, clickbait AI-generated articles, etc. have taken over.

Considering thousands (including me) do claim the game is enjoyable, shouldn't that be more interesting than whether or not a bunch of devs are going to get laid off because they made an overall unattractive product? I think we really are headed to a point where there will be big game scarcity comparable to 2020-2022, without the pandemic excuse.
