Roger ebert RIP was pretty good he gave iron man and blade . A lot of times he took into account the type of movie it was.

They're only pretentious when they're criticizing something you like.

Yes. It's basically a prerequisite. It doesn't mean they're wrong or bad at their job though. Some definitely are. A certain degree of pride is necessary for critique, you'll fold otherwise if someone tried clapping back.

And anti-intellectual, reverse snobbery types get irritated by that. And the fact that they gave that bollocks you like a bad review.

Then again, the vast majority of game reviewers, or so I recall from back in the Game Informer days, have no idea what the fuck they're talking about. They play a third of a game over a weekend and review that, or it's something they don't actually know how to play in the first place, and then review as if they do. See: Every fighting game ever.

This topic, clearly, is a rash provacation-outlash/revenge set up against people who have commented on bad topics before, much like The Return Of Slade is a cartoon episode made purely to spite fans of the original Teen Titans.

I rate this 4 animated Titanic movies out of 5.

Higher is worse in this case. Its like golf, except with horrible animated films just trying to cash a buck in the most disrespectful way possible.

On a side note, no. I will never think Nostalgia Critic did anything fun or enjoyable outside of when he reviewed those Titanic cartoon abominations. But those particular reviews were indeed quite fun to watch.

Pitchfork is nowhere near as bad as it used to be.

The Sunday review of a missed album is almost always excellent.

Critic reviews I tend to find more helpful.

Audience reviews tend to be filled with agendas/0starReviewBombs/just plain ignorance.

Not really. Like most good blockbusters and family movies review fine.
