I'm trying to get the average percentage success of two separate events occurring, but its been ages since I've messed with that particular side of math and I haven't had much success with google.

The example is
Event 1 has a 5% chance to succeed
Event 2 has a 28% chance to succeed

What's the formula to get the overall percentage chance for both events to succeed?

Both, multiply across: 0.05*0.28 = 1.4%

Either, multiply their failrates across to get their combined failrate: 0.95*0.72 = 0.684 = 31.6%
