If people can kill invasive species such as pythons, pigs, and lion fish to help ecosystems, feral cats should be lethally removed as well.

This isnt the cats fault, same as it isnt the other animals fault; this is a problem caused by humans. Humans must be the solution.

Its bogus to have to tolerate an invasive species killing the native fauna.

I actually agree with you 100%. In fact, they do more damage and cause more death than any actual invasive species.

That said, you will probably get modded for this. Cats are special here.

Yeah. Theyre actually trying to keep their native biodiversity. I do wonder if gunning down the horses is the most practical way to deal with feral horses.

My perspective actually goes the opposite way. We shouldn't be killing invasives because who the hell are we to say they can't be here? Humans are invasive too!

It sounds edgy, but the premise is rooted in common invasive animal management. Why should domestic cats be treated any differently than pigs or pythons? Why should an exception be made?

I don't have anything against eating cats. Pretty much every group of humans on the planet hunted and ate cat meat if it was available. A lot of people don't realize this, but people do eat cat meat in America:

Thats negligent behavior. So shes basically feeding the coyotes at that point. If your pet gets nabbed once, thats sad. Multiple times? Shes just feeding the coyotes at this point. Might as well get the coyotes a kennel. Also, animals dont understand traffic, so letting pets gets them pancaked. Some people shouldnt be allowed to have pets.

hence the problematic label I gave them. Unfortunately I don't have any jurisdiction in the matter. The cats come into my backyard and I pet them. They mingle with my two cats through a sliding glass door

Theres too many ferals to the point some shelters wont even take them. If there was more shelter space or decent sanctuaries, I wouldnt believe culling is necessary.
Unfortunately, we get garbage like tnr that doesnt actually negate the impact on native wildlife.

Yes, my city brings them in, spays/neuters, clips their ears and releases them back where they found them. This is common

Notice how everyone is too busy getting mad while not offering any counterarguments or even acknowledging the problem. Outdoor cats and the human negligence that allows for them to run free plays a direct role in the current mass extinction. Cats kill billions and billions of animals a year, and have driven dozens of species to extinction just on their own.

People know this. They just don't give a shit, because they like cats. But they'll be quick to cry about a species becoming endangered (unless it's because of cats, then it'll be swept under the rug).

Cats at artificially high densities, sustained by supplemental feeding, reduced the abundance of native rodent and bird populations, changed the rodent species composition, and may have facilitated the expansion of the house mouse into new areas.

sustained by supplemental feeding lol. You shared an article of someone advocating not feeding strays smh
