I've always presumed it's not his money that he's spending, rather he's distributing his sponsors tax deductible charitable donation for them.

YouTube, probably Twitch as well. Makes his money from ad revenue, sponsorships, merch, the usual.

His philanthropic efforts are what gets him a lot of fame, and a quick glance tells me he's getting way too much credit for them. It's not his money, it's his sponsors money (and in some cases viewer donation money), and he partners with existing charities and organizations that were already doing this kind of work without him. I'm sure he's pooled in his own cash (them sweet tax benefits are a nice bonus I'm sure) and got a project or two rolling but for the most part he's using other's money while producing and profiting off feel good band-aid fixes to global poverty and inequality, perhaps unwittingly propagating the myth that nice rich people and corporate charity are all you need as opposed to, I dunno, not letting them hoard all this wealth to begin with because it can clearly be used to help people.

Yes, I'm very fun at parties thank you for asking. It's hardly the worst thing though, and if it gets people to donate some cash to more organizations or his efforts bypass a really shitty corrupt local government that's good too. But it really distracts from the wealth hoarding problem IMO.

Idk why you have to perform all of these mental gymnastics in analyzing his actions. Hes a YouTuber influencer who has gotten rich off of actively going out and doing millions of dollars worth of charity for the world. And he continues pouring his wealth into doing more good deeds.

Its really not hard to grasp. Whether he does it for some ego trip is irrelevant; he has actively done more good in the world than most people ever will.

Pretty much this. The only mark against him is that he comes off as an obnoxious YouTuber concerned with clout, but he's doing genuinely helpful, constructive things with his (and presumably his parents') wealth. If he's using his money and fame to help people out in the long run, no harm no foul.

People being helped is always a good thing. Sucks that this is how it has to happen. Instead of, you know, our government that we pay taxes to and in theory was created for this very purpose.

My understanding is the guy grew up modest, he was not born into wealth. He created a successful let's play channel and eventually started doing these videos. The money he makes from these videos is then used towards the next good deed he makes a video of and then repeats the process.

He's an example of someone ascending their starting social class and then using that to start doing good things for people around the world.

Grumble grumble, he's making money off of the video, grumble grumble, I'm an idiot, grumble grumble.

There are far worse YouTubers out there.

It's true again. In Fact, Mr. Beast could not before make all of Africa rich and now he can't even solve World Hunger.
