I feel like there has to be some sort of trailer out there that uses that part as promotion material

Maybe a USA network trailer. Idk if an official Lucasfilm/Didney trailer would

I mean, yeah. A spoiler is a spoiler, doesn't matter how old the material.

Voted yes but meant no, sorta. If you know for a fact that someone still intends to watch Star Wars/is currently going through them, you shouldn't spoil it for them. But otherwise the events of the Star Wars trilogy should be considered common knowledge just through pop culture osmosis.

Nope. You can't spoil 30+ year old pop culture material. By this point, you aren't "spoiled" inasmuch you're simply late to the party.

There are different classifications for spoilers

...i admit, i dont know for sure if this counts as a spoiler by gamefaqs rules

GameFAQs rules for spoilers means that if its used for promotional material (IE: Trailers and such) it doesnt count as a spoiler

This is why Darth Vaders true identity doesnt count

..i admit i dont actually know if this one counts...

Posts 5 and 8 collectively provide the correct answer. Technically every plot detail is a spoiler, but theres a statute of limitations on how long it can be considered a social faux pas.

I'd say no. Star Wars never marketed itself as particularly artful or subversive. "The Death Star blows up" is the same thing as saying "The good guys win." If anything, ESB ending on a cliffhanger with Luke getting his ass kicked, Han frozen in carbonite, and the bad guys not being the slightest bit inconvenienced would be a bigger spoiler lol.

But even then, it feels like so much of the Star Wars brand has been built off of the OT by now that any plot-relevant details would've been spoiled by promotional material by now, which makes it no longer a spoiler by this site's standards >_>
