From what I've seen, and I know how this is gonna sound to some of you, but bear with me: Some level of the patriarchy.

I've seen it in my family, extended family, and especially in the customer service field. The husband keeps talking over or otherwise denigrating what the wife has to say, she finally goes off the fucking rails, it finally gets people to listen to her, and so the feedback loop becomes "x works, I'll keep doing that" and then it gets applied elsewhere.

It has taken me fucking decades to get my family to a point where they could communicate halfway decently.

When a Karen is raised to think they are better than everyone else. If you look at a Karen's childhood, 9 times out of 10, that Karen was spoiled rotten.

Whatever facilitates entitlement. This may have been confirmed by the family growing up, or the person no longer faced prohibitions against their whims as an adult. Some Karens are just petty people and wish to inflict misery on others just because that is their natural inclination, though these Karens are more reactive to whats around them and go off others policies rather than their own vision.

When a mommy Karen and a daddy Karen love the manager very much....
