6 years in office is way too long. Someone can fuck around for a 4 years and just start doing right the last two to get reelected. And 2 years for the house is no time at all. So right when people are in office they have to think about reelection. Also since it would pair with Presidental elections more people would vote.

There's a deep flaw in your logic, and it is assuming that politicians are good people who genuinely want to govern, but can't because they're trapped in endless election cycles.

When in reality, the entire republican side of the aisle are fucking scum bags expressly wishing to destroy government, who only behave every other year b/c there's an election coming up and goldfish-memory voters will actually punish them for any bs they pulled the last several months.

You think it's a coincidence that all of the government shut downs occur in odd number years or very early in even numbered years?

Make every election a 4 year cycle, and you enshrine 3/4 of the time to obstructionism.

My bigger takeaway is that each state should have three senators, so that theres a senatorial election in every state every election.

A midterm without a senate election stinks.

You would obviously need a Constitutional amendment for this but I wonder if that could be done. Adding 50 more senators doesnt really hurt anyone politically, and it would mostly get rid of the stupid ties

It gives republicans a huge boost because the Senate favors Republicans by default through their dozens of shit hole states with no one living in them
