Nope. I live in Los Angeles. The beach is a quick 20-30 minute drive away. Multiple beaches, technically, but it's all the same coastline.

Im definitely landlocked from the ocean. I live in Iowa in farm country. Full of fields of corn and soybeans everywhere.

But I spent a lot of time on the ocean when I was in the U.S. Navy. Multiple deployments and even in a non deployment year we averaged being out to sea for 10 out of the 12 months. Lots of time on the water.

I'm an hour away from a beautiful coastline and I'm also an hour away from a ski resort.
And it never snows where I live.
Doesn't get much better in terms of climate.

I've always lived on the coast. Savannah, GA. then NYC, now L.A.

I've never actually lived in a landlocked state (born in Texas, which has the Gulf of Mexico to the southeast, lived in Maryland, which has both the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean on the Eastern Shore, and Alabama which has the GoM at the southern tip)

Well to be fair we have Long Island, I guess..
But we have one of the greatest seaports in the world NYC, plus the Hudson River is actually an arm of the Ocean for over a hundred miles inland, making it one of the farthest inland seaports in the World. For reference, Albany NY has tides.

Alaska has about as much coastline as the rest of the country combined IIRC. The ocean is about half a mile from my house.
