Not sure. I've never had to give them as a suspect; I did have to once as a "negative match" (ie: a situation where my fingerprints were expected to be on something they were investigating, so they needed mine to know which ones to ignore) and while officially they were deleted afterwards, who knows if that really happened.

I don't really care that much tho. Only illegal thing I do these days is cannabis, and I'm much more likely to get spotted using it than caught from my fingerprints being on something. If the cops even give a shit in the first place, which around here they pretty openly don't care as long as you don't do it in front of them.

yea.

I was a dumbass, as a kid, and fascinated by laminated cards, like IDs, library cards, etc.

so, I joined my school's DARE program, lol, and they put my fingerprints on file.

I'm pretty sure they tricked everyone into doing so during any time during their child/teen hood. If not, these peoples parents went out of their way to avoid it.

Yes. Joined the U.S. Navy and went into the Nuclear Power program. Got my prints and did a full background check for security clearance. Not sure if the police has access to that information database or not but the military has my prints.

Never been arrested or had to do it for work. Only thing that comes to mind is like first or second grade there was a class trip to some police station and I vaguely remember them doing finger prints and it being cool. Boy that'd be fucked if that was kept on file.

I have faint memories of being lined up in the elementary school auditorium. When we got to a woman at a desk, she grabbed each finger one by one and rolled it on an ink pad then on a piece of paper. I didn't know what was going on or if that's in any type of file, but it's weird to think about now.

I recall having to do that too way back then. The only other thing I can recall was giving a thumb print for something or other years ago.
