It is legal to freely, as in no questions asked, have one here in most states up to 22 - 24 weeks, except Tasmania which is 16 weeks. There is no obligation for the woman to inform anyone of the procedure either, whether it be a wife to her husband, girlfriend to her partner or a minor to her parents. Oh, and no court is allowed to grant an injunction to stop the abortion, even if the person seeking the injunction is the paternal father. There are no waiting periods for the procedure, and it is partially funded by the federal government via Medicare. In fact it is illegal for anti-abortion activists to harrass visitors or staff of clinics that offer abortion.
