I mean, most people DL now right? It's not like people line up or go to midnight releases and stuff like that.

Nah, not really. I was a "Physical only, fuck digital" guy for a long time, but caved and my entire modern library is digital now except like 10 Switch carts. Physical wears out, cartridge batteries die, discs deteriorate.

No I have 397 games according to my PS5 Collection. There is no possible way I could physically hold that many.

Nah. I stopped caring about physical when games stopped including manuals. I used to get excited as a kid to open a new game and check out the manual before playing the game. I greatly prefer the benefits of digital more.

Same. I buy physical whenever I can. I'll only buy digital if physical isn't an option and it's something I really want to play. Even then I'll wait until it's cheap because in my mind it's a rental and not a purchase.

Physical is already gone. On a modern console, you still need to download and install the majority of a game even if you have the disc, and the disc essentially functions as DRM.

I like the convenience of digital. Can situate my gaming systems however I need and just select what I want from the comfort of my chair or couch. Sifting through all my games in one convenient location without any extra clutter is nice, too. Not adding to waste feels good, too. I'm sure there's offset between mass manufacturing of plastic cases and disks/cartridges/whatever-gimmick-the-usual-suspect-comes-up-with-next versus what goes into making larger storage media, but still.

By physical games you mean board games or other physical activities or just physical media video games,?
The former yes, the latter no.

On a second thought, i do miss physical media because they're more efficient in data storage. Digital games are way too bloated in size now.

I don't miss the games so much as I miss the fat booklets they used to come with. The OoT booklet was fun just to look through. It was downright pretty, and very exciting as a preview of the game to come.

There are games that I would play more often if I had the digital versions, like AC: New Horizons or Mario Maker 2. If I'm on my library browsing for something, I'd more likely load the one that doesn't have a disc or cartridge because it's right there and ready.

That was my favorite game of all time. I used to rent it from Blockbuster several times until I finally got it for Christmas. Think I was 8 or 9 or so. I remember shortly after having it, I had the booklet out and my cousin who is 2 years younger than me decided to roll around on the floor randomly. Something she doesn't normally do. She rolled over the booklet and ripped the cover off or something. I was so mad lol.

I was going to say, I dont miss the physical games themselves, but I do miss the cool extra stuff like maps, manuals, etc. Now when you buy a physical game its literally just the box and the game. Boring.

then my 360 died and i went PC
i bought Xcom Enemy Unkown for PC on a physical disc, itimstalled a few megabites, and then just downloaded the rest from Steam anyway, so why even bother at that point?
