It felt like a mood piece / proof of concept. I didn't hate it, but didn't love it. None of the punchy dialog or heavy scenes Fincher is known for are present. And fassbender barely says anything -- it's like Drive, but the dude put hamsters in the dryer as a kid instead of tinkering with cars.
