A giant hybrid lizard dinosaur that breaths fire that destroys cities and fights other giant monsters.

A metaphor for war and all the chemicals and radioactive shit that mankind caused and spawned from but is re-introduced simply as mother nature's rage and counter balance against any species that becomes a danger to earth. I love it.

Godzilla vs Monkey started as a joke prediction and then proceeded to decide to have a plot that is mostly an excuse for them to go to random other fictional settings to fight stuff. Sometimes including other versions of themselves.

Yeah... I really enjoyed the 2014 game for what it was but it could've been so much better. It sucks because I want more kaiju games that are destruction simulators, but most kaiju games are fighters which is fine but not my personal preference.

I just saw the Kong vs Godzilla movie, and it was pretty sad. Kong got his ass handed to him many times.

But I do love a good Godzilla movie, but that one I did not care for.

In a franchise so large, Godzilla is bound to be portrayed in every which way you can imagine. The majority of the time, Godzilla is either a pretty clear force for good, or a force of nature that usually acts in the best interests of humanity/Earth simply because it aligns with his own needs. Very rarely is Godzilla a force of true evil. So it's not really surprising that the audience roots for him more often than not.

Most of the other kaiju are like Godzilla. They're just very large and very dangerous animals at the end of the day. But they're not necessarily malicious. The ones that are evil are generally under control of or working for aliens that want to subjugate Earth. Monsters like Gigan, King Ghidorah, etc.

And then there's Mothra who's consistently the only true good kaiju. She is almost always considered to be Earth's (and humanity's by extension) protector.

I disagree. She's the protector of humans. Godzilla is the protector of earth as he's a force of nature and keeps things in balance.

The best part of that fight is when Godzilla says fuck it, and go into a feral beast mode and starts shredding Kong like pulled pork.

Well that depends on the interpretation, this most certainly is not the case in the OG, Shin Godzilla, or what I can pull from the Godzilla Minus One trailers.

It probably ain't just your lady that thinks that, sadly. Lots of Japanese people think that all anime is jusr naruto cartoon shit. But, Japan is like the Boomer motherland, as well as the anime motherland, so you gotta expect that, lol.

Godzilla is bruh-some, though.

Godzilla wasn't as famous in 1962 as King Kong was. So, yeah, there was never any doubt who was going to win the fight. In fact, the Italian title for the movie was The Triumph of King Kong.

The original plot for the follow-up film, Mothra vs Godzilla, had Godzilla's "dead" body washing ashore. But they changed it so that Mothra's egg ran aground and people decided to put it on display instead. People are still shocked to find that Godzilla is alive.

The underwater ending of the fight between Kong and Godzilla deliberately takes place off-screen so that Godzilla fans can claim that he chased Kong away. But Toho acknowledged in press releases at the time that Kong was the winner. Godzilla's creator would later state in his memoir that the fight was a draw, but I'm gonna have to call him to account on that one.
