Long post incoming:
I got CP2077 at launch, playing on PS4, obviously it was horrible.
In April 2022 i decided to start again while i had covid, this time on PS5 - it was great, but once the covid went away i didn't go back to it.
In February 2023 i built a pretty sick PC (i wont go into detail but it has a 4070ti) and decided to get CP2077 and play on PC this time. There was a bit of starting and stopping, and i finally finished in August and really liked it.
Once 2.0 dropped i picked it back up and HOLY SHIT the changes to combat immediately sucked me in. I started the Phantom Liberty storyline fairly early in my playthrough, but didnt rush it, i probably started around 20 hours in. During PL i took my time, id get sidetracked with the car return missions and Hands' gigs, and random NCPD missions, being absolutely immersed the whole time. Once the storyline starts firing up it is so fucking good - Idris Elba is incredible. I'm sitting around 60 hours right now, so (taking my time) that whole thread took me around 40 hours. By comparison, my first playthrough took me 67 hours. I still have so much game to go.

The mission where you are at the party is so well done - that performance in the middle of it blew my mind. Once it wraps up, so i guess id call it the epilogue, where you go to the Black Sapphire for the memorial - you're back on that floor that was set up so well for the party - the whole mood has changed (obviously) and its the only time while playing a video game that i had actual memories of being back in a place where the vibe had taken a complete 180.

I'm not far removed so i don't want to make any bold claims, but CP2077 might be my favorite game of all time - its definitely top 10, and without a doubt PL is the best DLC I've ever played. PL could have been a standalone game and i would be satisfied with it.

Also, this playthrough my main weapon is a Knife (the legendary you can pick up off of Saburo Arasaka), a pink Kitana (the legendary Cocktail Skewer), and a pistol (the legendary Her Majesty). Throwing the knife, following up with a finisher, then quickhacking suicide on someone is so satisfying.

Cyberpunk got a ton of deserved hate early on, but it's a kick ass game. I put well over 100 hours into my second playthrough.

If you're using knives and blades you gotta grab the Apogee Sandevistan.

It pops up somewhere around level 45 or so in cyberdocs, and it's straight up fuckin' broken.

85% slowdown (I've run down cars after triggering it), a host of damage boosts I don't recall specifically, it adds to its timer on every kill, and as long as it hasn't actually hit the cooldown you can turn it off and on at will.

I just read up on it and holy shit with my loadout I'll be unstoppable. Until now I haven't even considered NOT having a cyberdeck but after you telling me about this I absolutely have to

I was that way on my first two playthrough, didn't want to give up the convenience of hacking.

With that in mind, Sandies are the goddamn best.

The main problem is cameras but pop the Sandy and camo at the same time and zoooooooop right up there before it even tracks you.

Also it's straight up David Martinez's Sandy.

I didn't appreciate how lackluster Starfields art direction and animations were until I played Cyberpunk 2.0

Fucking kickass game
