Theyve said from the beginning it would have losses until 2024. They invested billions into new content.

Imo they couldve just offered traditional disney content for 5 bucks while they slowly produced new stuff and ppl wouldve paid it. Now youre starting to get close to netflix prices with 1/10 the content and the value is not there.

I like prime cause you can sub to other services directly through the app. Fuck needing to keep 17 different logins for all the different streaming sites that are dedicated services.

Duh. That was always going to happen. You can't sustain a service on the price they were selling it for. It's to get people signed up and hope enough stay when the price goes up. It could never stay that low and actually pay for new content.

D+ and Hulu are combining services next year iirc.

Almost as if this was inevitable when every production company got greedy and made their own service. They all had a good thing when it was just Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime but it was never enough.

Burn it all to the ground and start over.

Every studio is going to be hurting for a long time. That strike did serious damage to their business and well be seeing the ramifications of that for a long time.
