If you want to play a FF with a great job system and don't want to need to mute your TV while playing X-2, FFV is there for you. It was amazing in its day but later games have done the job system better so it loses its luster.

And many other games after it, with the difference being their limit breaks.

Haven't read the whole thread but to us who like 5 it's the gameplay itself that makes it great. The whole job system is fun to mess around with.

Someone mentioned all the characters are interchangeable which is true I guess but so was 7 to a degree. Being able to use who you want and make them good at whatever you want is fun.

The characters aren't even that interchangeable. Grinding for every job takes ages so you naturally spec the characters into certain builds and abilities

Final Fantasy is my favorite series of all time, and FF5 is one of my least favorite main numbered games in the series. But its still fun. And I totally understand why people would rank it as their favorite. I just want good characters and a good story as part of my Final Fantasy games, and those are weaknesses of FF5, unfortunately.

FF7 > FF4 > FF10 > FF6 > FF9 > FF1 > FF13 > FF3 > FF5 > FF2 > FF8

Never played FF11, FF14, FF15 or FF16. Only played a small bit of FF12, so I dont have a good enough feel for it to rank it. Only game that I dislike of that bunch is FF8.

Also, first FF game I ever played was FF1, but I was too young to understand how to progress the game much. First FF that I really got into and beat was FF4.

But you can pretty much choose who you want for whatever role
