Leaving Netanyahu in charge of a government that exists until the current war ends is such an obviously bad idea I cant understand why anyone would allow it.

Yeah, no. I'm not saying we were angels after 9/11--far from it--but we weren't *this* bad. This is a level of savagery that is fucking disturbing.

But yeah this is pretty bad.

They equate modern day Palestinians with the Amalekites from Deuteronomy, which is absurd. There's a lot of violent verses in there about what the Amalekites did to the Israelites as they came out of Egypt. So AFAIK, the radical right wing contingent in Israel use some of those verses where God talks about retaliating against Amalekites to justify what is being done to Palestinians today.

Pretty much. Both sets of religious extremists take extremely literal interpretations of their religious texts way out of context to further political agendas.
