for me, it's real time with pause.

I've come to really enjoy RPGs, including turn-based, but I could never get used to real time/real time with pause.

I had to drop KotOR back in the day because of it, and I almost didn't play through Dragon Age Origins, but I stuck it out with that one.

which sucks because i used to play the shit out of AoE2 back in the day.

CCGs in general

Could never figure out Dissidia games because of how the combat worked.

Turn-based strategy and point-and-click adventure are an automatic pass for me.

I couldn't play Witcher games cause the combat was just that bad

I have no problem with action RPGs being hard and giving me trouble, but as soon as the game tells me to go back to my corpse so I don't lose stuff I grinded, I simply wont play it.

It's one thing if I waste 5 hours because I can't beat a boss for 5 hours. It's another thing if I waste 5 hours, because I died in a stupid spot, or because I was simply too unfocused after work.

In general I hate rhythm games.

Like Dance Dance Revolution or Guitar Hero.

I think the idea of repetition and timing to be utterly boring.

Yeah, soulslike games simply arent fun for me. Its not that I hate a challenge, I just hate that style of game with a passion.

The moment something is described as being soulslike I lose all interest in it.

Fishing sims

Survival games, specifically the progression sequence from stone axe to a full auto.

Too much junk items which I don't know if they'll come in handy later. This is one of the reasons why I stopped playing Original Sin 2.

Off the top of my head:
Soulsbornes/soulslikes. I'm fine with Remnant, though, because it's not so melee-focused.
First-person horror where you can't fight back or kill enemies.
Racing/driving games.
4X games.
SRPGs (except for SRW and Front Mission).
Metroidvanias that are more like Metroid than SOTN.

Oh yea, this too. I couldn't really get into Outlast because the moment I'm discovered, I can only jump around while getting bashed to death.

I actually like the main mechanics of Soulslikes. But Fromsoft's titles tend to follow the Metroid 1 formula of "get fucked, loser" When it comes to progression and I just cannot play them blind because of it.

"Oh I'm supposed to go here but I'm actually balls deep in the other fucking side of the map. I didn't realize the enemies were too strong because fucking everything in this game can murder you"

No I will use a guide and cheese the shit out of them I do not have time for this. >_>

Also Fire Emblem and all the grid-based tactics RPGs inspired by it can fuck the hell off with their leveling mechanics.

Cant play Stealth games at all

Fighting games. I don't have enough time to get good at them.

I can't play Guitar Hero because it feels like rubbing your head and patting your bottom at the same time.

I also can't use any sniper rifles in FPS's that don't have a high rate of fire or wide area of effect.

There are like 2 rogue likes I like. Not into straight up racing games either, but I'm ok with racing in games with more going on like gta
