As we know, conservatives are just rational level-headed intellectuals who don't rise to the low-stakes zero-sum game of identity politics, and their political decisions are driven entirely by economic anxiety.

But since Trump's decision to just add tariffs to everything last presidency was an unmitigated disaster for the American economy, and since he plans to do that but again but harder, what is the conservative stance on this?

I get it. America is a paradise and us peasants in the rest of the world should pay a premium for the privilege of doing business with you. But since that doesn't seem to work out in reality, what then?

Oh, they loved his economic policies, and in typical republican cuck fashion they love the policies that directly hurt their wallet and their growth as Americans

What I recall from GOP supporting folks, he helped them on their taxes and salaries were "better" under him than Obama.

Which unfortunately tells me most of such people aren't paying all that great attention, especially when they conveniently ignore (or don't even see news of) the corporate tax breaks.

I think it's pretty wild that some people really think that a presidential pick - whoever it is - will immediately affect your salary in the short term.

Economic conservatives don't agree with the tariffs but will accept them as long as they get tax cuts and deregulation.
