I'm at five months of growth now. My beard gets really coarse and it's uncomfortable to sleep in any position but with my head straight up facing the ceiling.

I tried a "beard conditioning oil" by Shea Moisture Men but I don't feel like it helps very much. Maybe makes it all a bit softer but stroking the beard is still uncomfortable.

My beard is between wavy and curly, dunno if that matters. I have dry skin rather than oily.

I shave the fucker. Seriously, facial hair is far too uncomfortable.

Same, unless I'm camping, I can't stand much more then a day and half growth.

I don't even notice it. Conversely, I feel every little change in the wind when freshly shorn, and it's annoying.

Wash it with shampoo. Use liquid soap/bodywash on your face in the shower too, it dries out your skin less.

I never had a really long beard, but when I grow out anything, it's pretty thick.

I goto the warp and ask Kaldor Draigo for tips. When less insane, or just lazy, I shave it.

I am happy to report my stubble is not full of tiny little men.

Did you wash your face before using the beard oil?
