my landlord charged me double that to replace a door i tore down on the house last month because i was locked out and had shit on the stove. he also took 2 weeks to do it and when i complained he got very aggressive with me

Bought a 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT at 12% APR when I was 19
Payments were about $400 a month, insurance was about $230 a month, and it took premium fuel which at the time was well over $4/gallon and it got horrible fuel economy with a fairly large fuel tank so I was dropping like $80 a week on gas I was able to sell it a couple years later for just enough to pay off the loan and buy a $400 1987 Toyota Camry that was basically falling apart but still drove, and I felt so fucking good driving that thing in comparison lol --- https://i.imgtc.com/MGGa6Os.gif ... Renting for so damn long. Could've gotten a house w/ some short term pain like a decade ago, certainly 5 years ago... and would've spent literally HALF what I had to in order to become a homeowner now. I don't even want to think how far back I set myself financially. Hundreds of thousands of dollars easily, especially since my rent that entire time was really fucking high and basically turns into lost money. "What if I don't stay in this job and want to move?" "I don't want to have a starter home and upgrade later, I want my forever home when I get a house." God, younger me was so foolish... ... Copied to Clipboard!
