I fully expect to be the only vote for Gouken

I don't like SF4's newcomers that much. I like Gouken and Hakan. Juri, Poison and Viper are alright. Rufus and El Fuerte are individual contenders for my least favorite characters in the series.

Glad I'm not the only one who likes Hakan (although I don't think he's my favorite; I voted Poison). Not surprised others don't care for El Fuerte and Rufus.

I liked most of the newcomers in IV. Picked Viper cause she was the most fun for me. El Fuerte would be a close second.

Good point. I'll admit I didn't know how to split 11 characters and I didn't want another situation like Street Fighter III where all the most popular characters are in one part.

You're right. She apparently made her playable debut in Street Fighter Alpha 2. My bad. That and the exclusion of Oni makes me wonder if I should redo the poll. Then again it seems like Juri is overwhelmingly winning.

juri was pretty cool character and design wise. Though her backstory was a little to edgy for my liking, but I think it was retconned?

And the prequel animation she was introduced had her utterly wiping the floor with everyone. To which Im pretty sure she was nerfed afterward.

i just don't consider a character a newcomer if theyve been playable in other games. Like Akira makes her SF debut in SFV but I wouldnt call her a new character.

Although for Poison, that previous game was Final Fight Revenge which was notoriously terrible.

My favorite character to use of the newcomers was Hakan, so my vote went there. My favorite newcomer character to see others use was Rufus.

Also, SFIV is my favorite game of all time

It probably had the best fan interaction of the entire franchise. EVO was hype and online was really fun. I remember getting up early to fight people from other countries online.

Not active at all. I think in the entire span of 5, I saw one Sf4 tourney ever. I saw way more ST and 3S tournies

EVO 2015 SF4 was peak EVO. Capcom Cup 2015 was pretty crazy too, shame about the Yun/Evil Ryu ending though.

I wish they'd taken longer to make SFV. Or just not made it at all since it never became fun to watch.

Hardly. She handled unlike any other Marvel character since they decided to make her an SFIV gimmick character with her EX cancels and focus attacks. They could have given those gimmicks to literally any other potential SFIV rep. It's a moot point anyways because they took creative freedoms with adapting a lot of movesets with most established fighting game characters.

And making it into SFxT isn't much to brag about lol. That's like an actor/character not making into an Avengers movie but they made it into a Disney plus spin off series episode lmao

C viper definitely still fits Marvel more than Juri.

The point is Juri got her own crossover game.
Sure we now can sat SFxT was bad, but before release the hype was as big as MvC 3. And the game ended up good in the end, but it's just too late because people already moved on.
