Should not be taken seriously. Especially considering most people who have zero trust in the entire profession have little to no clue what the steps to become a doctor even are or entail.

4 years of undergrad, 4 years of med school, 4-6 years of residency, then like 1 more year before you even can pass board exams and become a board certified MD.

And the exams you have to take during all of this? Fucking wild. Some are 6-8 hours long. The out of memorization needed blows my mind. Specific doses of medicine, how the body functions, what meds treat what diseases, theres an insane amount of content out there.

Yet some jackass on the internet is always out there saying all doctors do is google shit

Just because I don't understand the very basics of what the majority of my organs do, does that make a doctor know my own body better than me?

Thanks to the anti-vaxx movement plenty of doctors have exposed themselves as being dumb as shit even with everything they had to go through to become a doctor.

fun fact: try going to a doctor continental Western Europe, or even in Mexico. The quality of care and humane level of the treatment puts US doctors to shame.

the odd thing is these doctors can get their bachelors in medicine right after high school, no need for the pre-med bullshit, and they dont need to blow the board of medicine and beg to accepted into med school with a 4.5 GPA, its not nearly as hard.

its almost as these doctors are better BECAUSE they dont have to get into insane student debt, study for 12 years and be somebodys bitch for at least 4 years. The few doctors that manage to go through all of that in America end knee deep in debt, jaded, hungry for money and burned out.

I have said it before and I will say it again, medicine and law are run like a cartel in the US, with their respective boards doing everything in their power to restrict the number of people going into the profession and making the few ones that make it through go through rings of hell to make it, and they gotta pay their dues and give their cut to their masters.

if I were sick I would much rather have a French doctor or a Spanish doctor treat me than some indebted douche from here with a God complex that will probably make me talk to his nurse assistant or trainee doctor instead of him most of the time anyway

literally. US doctors have longer training than anywhere else. Lots of countries overseas skip undergrad, and go straight to med school from HS, then sometimes only have 2 year residency programs

Most doctors are doctors. I'm sure there are more then a few out there who are scam artists, snake oil peddlers or cold-hearted douche bags.

and somehow rather than resulting in wider, more skilled and professional doctors it results in indebted, jaded, greedy doctors, people who would often rather patch you up instead of completely fixing you and ordering a bunch of studies for what should be an easy diagnosis, because, money!

Because those are the doctors brave enough to tell the truth, and the medical community shuns them and pushes them away in order to hide that truth from us.

I have a friend who during covid, would send anti-vax articles/videos in our group chats. I would google the main person in the video and 100% of the time, no exceptions, the top results would be "Doctor ____ lost medical license after anti-vax stuff" "debunking the dumbest things _____ said about covid". But all those negative articles was proof that they're legit by "exposing" all the secrets in the medical industry.
