Airbnb is a service/company, like Uber. She's basically the same as an Uber driver. She used their service to rent out the extra space, and was supposed to have insurance/protection through them, but they're screwing her over.

That just sounds like complete bullshit. A "really super expensive apartment in a big city" is like $10k a month. She would need to be charging almost $1000 a day and have it booked almost all year round to make $300k off a single unit.
