Just right after the Dr Who set got released. The only one Im looking for is the Final Fantasy set. Who knew there would come a time where you could have Slivers, Kavus, Aragorn and Tidus in the same deck ..

I'm fine with LOTR since it's based on the books, but I don't know about this. Fallout just doesn't suit MTG somehow

That seems OP. 6 mana for a 6/6 with menace & trample that kills any card on the table as an ETB trigger.

I don't really like how these look so far but I don't really mind the Universe Beyond stuff generally. I'm looking forward to the Final Fantasy set.

That ETB trigger costs 7 as well. That's going to be a bulk rare.

That Crucible of the worlds card letting you play lands from the graveyard could be very nice for a mill deck.

Edit: just figured out that already existed, Im still new to the game

No, you get the trigger as part of the 6 mana creature spell, and then can trigger it AGAIN for the 7 mana monstrosity cost.

This is okay. 6 mana that doesn't basically win you the game is a bulk rare.

Destroying any permanent is neat though, you can destroy an opponent's land with this.

Wouldve been OP 20 years ago, but most formats are too fast for this to be relevant. Power creep is real.

It is a set of Commander decks. And they're generally pretty amazing due to their land bases being bizarrely good (when compared to what they normally push). Most of them were well over $300 (the high was just shy of $400) until the release inherently reduced the cost of the cards through the new supply.

Let's be real: you can guarantee that there is going to be some stuff that does. They have basically never made a set of commander decks that hasn't pushed out waves. Not every deck has come with a winner, but I can't think of a single set (minus Warhammer... and even then not exactly) that did nothing at the time of its release.

minus Warhammer

The Dr. Who decks haven't been tbh, but Warhammer has been fairly impactful on legacy.

Triumph of St. Katherine, Chaos Defiler, Mawloc, and Canoptek Scarab Swarm all see play, but due to no online printings the true impact can't be determined

Interesting, I hadn't seen any of those played in Legacy.

And Dr Who has Everybody Lives as a pretty serious sideboard card. It also has a couple of other "on the fringe" cards that I could easily see showing up in weird ways, such as Cyber Conversion and Flesh Duplicate. At this stage, however, it is still a bit too early to really say as to whether or not the cards are going to end up actually performing. It hasn't exactly been a real length of time sense the cards have come out.

Kathy is a card in some builds of UWx control. It's not as popular now considering Forth Erolingas is just the best threat for control, but it's still a house against Delver and honestly a good clock against combo too

Chaos Defiler is a mainstay in Painter decks since it's absolutely absurd with a Goblin Welder and presents a fast clock

Mawloc and Canoptek are lesser players, but Naya Depths and Maverick builds have been on Mawloc and I know Death and Taxes has been occasionally trying Canoptek out

Of course my first knee-jerk question was 'are they going to throw NV a bone?' Sure enough it looks like they've got a dedicated Caesar's Legion pack, which is pretty neat.

Ah, that would explain why I haven't really encountered them. Of those I've only really faced Painter, Maverick, and D&T and none of the decks ever really were updated for Warhammer.

Phyrexian Obliterator is far superior in every way. Only cost 4 black 5/5 trample and exiles cards equal to how much damage it dealt to blocking creature.

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/2/5/0/AAam6dAAE9My.jpg
Add All that Glitters to it https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/2/5/1/AAam6dAAE9Mz.jpg
Pair it up with any self-hitter like Bushwack https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/2/5/2/AAam6dAAE9M0.jpg and you basically can wipe out your opponents whole board.
