I have 2 senior coworker on the team doing the same kind of work. These 2 senior coworkers started off at a smaller role and worked their way up to the positions we're in now. I was hired into the position from the outside. He is curious about how much they're paying me when they hired me. If I'm getting more than them then he wants to use that as ammunition to get a raise. I don't mind telling them if it somehow benefits all of us however I don't want to tell him and then he go tell the bosses "Well, VeggetaX just started with us and you're paying him this much so you need to pay us more". Thots?

I don't mind if that's true. But I'm afraid they might tell the bosses I told them what I'm making and then the bosses get mad at me.

It's against the law for employers to keep employees from talking about their pay. If telling them comes back and bites you, then you are protected.

Welp, the coworker that asked just told me his wages and it's lower than mine. However, the most senior coworker on our team probably makes even more than me. Kinda feel bad.
