Do you think you'll ever be "too old" for video games? Is such a thing even possible?

Doubt Ill ever be too old. There have been times where I havent wanted to play a game in weeks or even months, but I eventually get back in. The industry would have to go completely down the drain, and even then, there are plenty of older games I havent tried.

as i do a lot of pvp, there will come a time where my reflexes fail me. there was already such a time where i had to make an adjustment -- was around the age of 30.

Probably not in the next 10 years. Maybe some point after that if I don't have enough free time for it.

I'm not too old, but, it's more I don't care anymore.

Is that seriously a thing? Do people become worse at PVP in their 30s or is in just a passion thing?

I've never been that into PVP but I find the idea of that interesting. I feel like I have gotten better at games as I got older. But then again I PVE...

As for the topic. Fuck that entire mindset. Gaming has been mainstream my entire life. Each year it becomes more so.

Yet that weird ass 90s stereotype bullshit that didn't even really fit society then still somehow prevails to this day.

The same people who act like games are for kids wouldn't bat an eye if you sat in a bar all weekend. Fuck "normal".

It's like when people say they don't watch horror movies as if it some type of moral badge of honor to say that. Meanwhile you're probably a POS irl.

On the contrary. The older I get, the more I enjoy gaming. I'll play until I die.

It's 2023 and people are still running with the idea that games are for kids? They're just another entertainment medium. You don't think about being too old for books or movies, do you?

There will be Smash tournaments in retirement homes in the future.

I don't play video games as often especially now that I have kids. If they grow up and start playing games on their own I don't mind joining them but most of my responsibility is to make sure they grow up in a health environment. I definitely know one of my old friends who never gave a shit about their daughter and was neglectful of them because all he ever wanted to do was play video games and hang out at the bar. He eventually just disappeared off the face of the earth, his wife believes he walked out on the family, because he was a terrible father, while my other friends believed he may have been killed by someone or by accident. The only thing I know is that I won't ever treat my children like that.

Too old?

When I die, that's when I'll be too old.

Human reflexes generally deteriorate with age.

It will be interesting to see what patterns emerge when we start getting people whove been using a controller for 60+ years.
