I beat the game in two hours. (Obviously, not my first time playing.) Then I spent a third hour attempting to get the bonus message to pop up on the end screen.

Half an hour ago, I was ready to give up and just watch the end credits on YouTube. There is not one video dedicated to the true ending of the game. I don't get it. I know for a fact that I've typed in the code successfully before. Maybe I'm just too old. Maybe the code has to be typed in so ridiculously swiftly that I just don't have the reflexes anymore.

I thought maybe the code was typed incorrectly, but no sites have it listed any differently than that. No one says, "Type it quickly." No one says, "Enter the code after the fourth heart appears on screen." No one says, "Wait for the music to stop, then type in the code." I know for a fact that the game only allows you one chance to enter the code. If you type it repeatedly, it refuses to register.

I remember the screen being underwhelming. Music by so-and-so, directed by so-and-so. Fuck whoever the greedy prick executive was who wouldn't let the programmers receive credit for the game proper. Fuck whoever it was that forced them to pull a Warren Robinett and hide their credits in the game's programming instead of making them visible at the game's true ending.
