That loss to Washington is doing a lot of work for Oregon. They only have 2 wins against teams that would be considered top 50. Statistical rankings do favor them but I don't see how you put them ahead of Texas and Alabama based on resume

Ya get what ya get. I didn't go to U of M, but I live in Michigan and have always rooted for them. And I don't mind sign stealing, in any sport. It's part of the game. But not like this. Just like when the Astros cheated. It wasn't that they cheated. It was how they cheated. And Michigan went WAY too far.

Unreal how corrupt the FBS voters are. Where they live and what conference they went to matters more than actual results on the field.

Look at that strength of schedule posting earlier in the thread and they have the best win (Oregon). And they are still fucking undefeated. If there has been any year that highlights the East Coast bias...it is this one.

Washington holds most of their opponents under their averages, and in the second halves of games they are absolutely shut down defensively, but no one watches their games so no one really knows that they just look at box scores.

It does matter though. I've never argued for Alabama to be any higher than 7th and I don't think they should get in if everyone that possibly could wins out.

I just think Washington's (and the pac12 as a whole) strong start to the season has had a lasting impact on perception that isn't fully deserved. They've been dreadfully bad defensively for the past month. I'm willing to give them a pass for the USC game but giving up 28 to Utah (one of the worst offenses in P5) and 33 to Stanford (one of the worst in all of FBS) are ugly results that should be reflected in their ranking.

Good thing for them is that none of this matters. Win out and you're in

I can't imagine because of a few reasons that all go against Washington's favor:

1. We rarely get this far into a season with this many undefeated P5 teams. I believe this is only the second time it's happened under the playoffs

2. SEC teams that make it this far undefeated are almost always statistically dominant in opponent adjusted metrics to a degree that it would be absurd to leave them out

3. The top SEC teams typically play at least one high end opponent OOC

As far as bias goes, like, yeah man. The two time champs are gonna get the benefit of the doubt. Don't care what conference they're from

Remember folks...For every conference outside the SEC, how many points you score and wins\losses don't matter. Only how many points you give up matters.

And odd how you didn't point put UW scored more on Utah (one of the best D's) than anyone else this year and held them scoreless in the 2nd half. Must have just skipped your mind there.

They are either #1/#2 in every meaningful statistic but you boil down an 10-0 season to a few games where they didn't blow someone out as the only variable. Oh, I forgot the totally un-biased "I just don't think the Pac-12 is as good as ALL the media says it is." I forgot that doozy.

Everything you type reinforces the East Coast bias BS.

The last two weeks will sort out the top 4. OSU or UM will knock the other out, for example

I like UW and have been impressed with Penix since his Indiana days, but put them in the SEC and they would not be undefeated.

If Washington wins out they are in. Either Mich or Ohio St will get knocked out in a couple weeks.

That was just one comment I made among a bunch of other arguments and statistics, most of which you haven't even bothered to respond to (see post 239 for my actual main points). Your only point is that I'm biased towards the SEC

For the record Im not sure if Washington will go undefeated (tough matchup @ OSU this weekend) but the committee should at least be consistent in how they judge teams imo
