The same reason anyone suspends all future elections I would imagine, they want to stay in power forever and don't think they can win another election.

Do keep in mind that Hamas doesn't recognize the west bank government as official and vice-versa, so when you say "Palestine" you kind of need to specify which half, because the PNA does hold regular elections: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elections_in_Palestine#2021-22_local_elections
