Tried it once for 5 minutes when i was like 12, went "the fuck is this boring shit?", then never touched it again

I felt like I played it forever when I was a kid. But thinking back on it, kids often just feel like everything is way longer than it is and I know my parents limited my computer usage time per day so I'm sure it can't actually be as long as it seems

Too many to know. It was my main game from around 2006-2012.

I played pretty intensely for a year in the late 00s.
I'd be tempted to go back if they could guarantee the feeling/playerbase would be the same. As is though, it comes off like a gathering spot for lost souls.

Got into it around 06/07-ish and played for about a year or more. A few months ago I got back into it for bit, but it's been over a month since I've played it.

The Realm and EverQuest were better

Back in the day my friend and I would talk on speakerphone for hours while we played RuneScape all day, good times

I'm not sure. I used to play in Jr high school. Pvp was everywhere. Before the wilderness. Before paid subscription. Before the dark times.

hans in lumbridge will tell you how many days, hours, and minutes you've put in on osrs. i remember rs3 will tell you the amount of hours you have through one of the account details sections but idr if it was paywalled.

for my main account (which is like my 3rd account) i've put in 8807 hours between rs3 and osrs. more than half of that is in OSRS from uhh like 2018-2020 period.

i forgot the login details of my 1st account but i played on it casually for like 2 years or so. my 2nd account got banned and i played it more than my 1st account lol... but i doubt they had more than 500 hours each since i played them to mostly chat in the Varrock Fountain in the 2005-2007 era.

i also have 3 more accounts but idr their account details and i dont think i put in too many hours into them

Current account is just shy of 3000 hours.

Not sure how many I put in during the RS2 days, but it's probably not as much as I remember given I could only play on the weekends. Probably 100-200 hours there

Never played it because MapleStory already had my attention.

Sort of.
The closest thing I've encountered to Runescape is Cookie Clicker. Both ensnare you with gradually accumulating numbers and a new unlock within sight of each level. What it really had going for it was the different kinds of people you'd meet.

Nowadays though the game's understood, there's guides everywhere. The wonderment of going out there blind is gone. I imagine most people playing are thirty-somethings going back and min-maxing a character because they didn't manage to in 2006. Even if they're not it hardly matters since everyone's personalities draw from the same pool of buzzwords and zingers nowadays.
It's probably still somewhat fun but it's got a big black cloud over it.

Tons of hours, my account is over 20 years old and I have played RS3 for a while now. Well, I haven't played in several months unfortunately...

Embarrassingly still behind on a lot of shit. I took a really long hiatus and all the new content and new dead content and new new content that made new old dead content obsolete is all really overwhelming to learn, so I did a lot of my skilling the old school way for a lot of things. Haven't even done any bosses or anything.

I tried it once or twice when I was a kid, definitely less than 10 total, didn't seem fun to me at all.

holy shit i managed to log into my 1st account and it legit only has like 2 days and some hours on it (hans will tell you your hours on runescape 3 now) wow it felt like i played the game 10x more as a kid. also the account is 18 years old so it close to getting the 20 year vet cape

curious about the hours on my banned 2nd account now. it must've been similar amount probably

ok i'm pretty sure my 4th account has more hours for sure. i got it up to 40 defense with level 1 att and 1 str. used a bronze dagger against self healing monks. this was by itself already like 40-50 hours down the drain. and then i used it to chat in zezima's friendschat for some time. it must have at least 100 hours, man. but i don't remember the password and ive tried like a few times. don't want to lock it out. i don't think its connected to an email address since it was made before that feature. im too lazy to initiate the account recovery process which can take like 3 days and idr much about its details now.
