What is an appropriate length of time?does it make sense to prosecute someone for something they did years ago, especially if they haven't gotten in trouble since? What about really serious crimes like child molestation, where the kids often don't even tell anyone until they are full grown, maybe decades later?

Really I dont think there should be such thing as a statute of limitations.

I am against the statute of limitations for repeat offenders, but on the other hand, as the years pass, many people don't remember their crimes

If you committed a crime 30 years ago and haven't done so since, I would say you managed to rehabilitate yourself nicely.

Isn't that the point of jail or prison? To rehabilitate instead of punish?

What if they killed a guy or touched a kid? Or were one of those nazi war criminals who get tried decades later? Do we just let that slide?

I personally say to let them swing. But that would demand a punishment based system.
