I know a guy with a active weight loss topic should not be posting this but...I love making fried chicken sandwiches at home. They are so much better than any fast food place like Popeyes, Chick-Fil-A, or Zaxbys. The only restaurants that can compete are the ones that serve bar and grill food.

When I start my full diet, I plan to eat a sandwich and a spinach salad every day. That should be around 800 calories maximum. Like guys you just don't know how much I love them. Like right now , even after having dinner. I am saying damn CJ it's not too late for chicken.

Disagree, fried chicken is so much more of a pain in the ass to make at home and generally doesnt get to the level of restaurant offerings

unless you have your own deep fryer or whatever but its just not worth it imo

Grilled chicken is fine, but I probably wouldn't even try to make a CFA-style sandwich without at least an air fryer.

I agree. I'll marinate some chicken breast, cook it in the oven, and have sandwiches for days

Sorry for some reason I thought I posted this in the wrong place.

This is how I make it.

Pound a chicken breast flat with a mallet.
Place the chicken pieces in a ziplock bag with the pickle juice. I like to do this over night.

Then I use a dry batter.
flour, garlic powder, pepper, MSG, basil, and celery salt (that is the secret.

So put the chicken in that making sure I cover everything.

Deep fry for around 14 mins .

It takes 20 mins that is all. You can't go to the store and get it that in 20 mins.

Noice.

Just needs some pickles and slaw and you're golden.

I just switched jobs recently, and am waiting for my paycheck to catch up, and as soon as I do I think I'm going to make some pulled pork.

lol this is not a 20 minute thing

-prep the chicken a day in advance, let it marinate overnight

-prep the batter

-preheat a deep fryer

-cleaning up all that powder from the batter, disposing of oil and cleaning up a deep fryer

i could go to Popeyes so many times in the 24 hours between starting this chicken and eating it

You already marinate your chicken in pickle juice but I'd still highly recommend adding some dried dill to your batter. I've been adding it to my chicken dishes lately and it's amazing!

Also give a "breakfast" mix a try. Get some cornflakes and crush them into teeny tiny pieces, make a small serving of pancake mix, and use that to create your fried chicken. Dredge the chicken in the pancake mix, then cover it in the cornflakes, then fry coated chicken like normal. It comes out with a very pleasant sweet and savory taste to it that's phenomenonal.

The idea is not to use a batter or flour coating at all. All that excess oil and flour just adds to calories.
