US Kinder Eggs are still a little different. Instead of the toy being inside the egg, the "egg" is two halves, with the candy sealed on one side and the toy sealed on the on the other (so the edible parts and the non-edible parts are totally isolated). And the candy side is for scooping, not chomping.

There's two "kinder eggs" kinder surprise which has the capsule in the egg, and kinder joy which separates the chocolate into one half and the toy on the other.

Kinder Joy was originally made because summer temps in some places made it impossible to properly stock kinder eggs without having them become deformed. Then they got exported to America later.

Also the law banning kinder surprise predates the existence of kinder surprise. It's actually a generic law banning non edible things inside of edible things and has nothing to do with choking but rather the infinite wisdom of capitalism some manufacturers padded their food stuff with inedible garbage that was cheaper to produce.

British Mars Bar is a worse version of US Milky Way
Isnt Mars bar just what Milky Way is called outside the US?

Mars bar is discontinued as a brand in USA. Snickers almond is what the American Mars bar used to be. European Mars bar was something different entirely

I did hear that a EU Mars bar is the equivalent of a US milkyway bar.

Neither bar has almonds in Europa

Smarties are just Great Value M&Ms
Even if true that automatically makes them better as the price of MnMs is so high it actually befouls the taste

Makes sense. Europa is pretty far away.

I call European Smarties gross M&Ms
Correct. As a Canadian, I cannot stand Smarties. The candy shell is far too thick, which makes the whole candy far too crunchy.

It's like mixing gum with nuts. You just dont do it.

Thanks! Do you know anything about the giant kinder eggs I've seen in Canada (and no doubt other places)? Is it actually one huge kinder suprise/joy, or is it a package containing multiple regular size ones?

Uhh I don't know about how giant you mean but the larger ones I had were one big capsule with a slightly larger toy. I also haven't seen them in decades. If there's a really big one then I don't know anything about it.

Those are great!

Those usually have an 8" stuffed animal attached to the package, and the inside usually has more Kinder eggs inside.

Very tasty, lol.

Smarties taste awful. I remember in the 90s they tasted real good and were on par with m&ms. But either I was a kid or they legit changed the formula since then because they taste awful
