tj&e got a well received remake recently and even has a film adaptation in the works, and shining force/2/gaiden 2 are still top tier S/TRPGs that still get regular rerelease and ports and are oft cited as a major influence in the genre

Now now, I didn't say it was the first, my child. And Doom was PC.

There's like a handful of games that I would go back to on the N64 and those got remasters already in some form or another, or they were outright improved upon in sequels or remakes. Genesis still has a bucket load of original fantastic games that are very much worthwhile playing.

N64 is great but doesn't have so many good pick-up-and-play games like Sega: the master of the arcade. Most of the classic N64 games tend to be 20-30 hour adventure games.
