Yu Yu Hakusho spoils - idk why but I often think about how Rando and the saint beats were described as existential threats to humanity but they were maybe like D-class demons who ultimately got defeated by a middle schooler with like 2 weeks of training

Supernatural comes to mind. First time we see a demon its a near impossible fight but a few seasons later those are regular moons they mow down as they fight literal God.

I only watched the first seven or eight seasons, but there seems to be an awful lot of powercreep in Bleach.

The godkin's legacy-

Mc becomes the strongest in her realm after around 2 years of training. She reached rank 10 out of 10 in the power system they have. then later finds out she's been living in a pocket realm that is used for training newbies on a diff realm every few decades or so.

She gets transported to this diff realm and is basically a rank 2 out of 6 in power scale.
Eventually becomes the strongest again after like 12 years or so (a decade of that spent in meditation).

Gets transported to another realm involuntarily lol.

This time she is more like a rank 3 out of 6 in powerscale but the gap is much larger now. Before she was able to punch up like a rank and a half but now she can't defeat opponents that are a bit higher than her but are still of the same rank.

Story not complete yet.

Getting access to weapons that could kill demons helped a lot with that.

Not really though since demons can possess anyone, practically teleport, and have psychic powers that instantly kill people on the regular. They get some upgrades that protect them sam becomes immune to psychic powers for a bit, they get tattoos that make them immune to possession, but the demons should pretty easily be able to get the jump and instant kill them. It's plot armor that saves them.

Love the show though, just it's kind of silly at times.

I thought this was a show, but it's only a boo. Kind of disappointed as it sounds like classic anime trope.

It is very anime inspired for sure. The way It is written mirrors a Japanese light novel lol (chalk full of dialogue and barely any prose and descriptions). The dialogue is very animeish too.

It started out as a xianxia parody but eventually plays it straight by around the 3rd book. The mc is also really odd and it can be grating to read her thoughts. Especially in book 4 where she acts moronic the entire time. So I wouldnt recommend it tbh lol. Did give me a few laughs though.

Time Skip Natsu. In the best way possible.

The entire Naruto universe is the poster child for power creep.
