What counts as password sharing? I mean I watch in my home on my laptop, and iPad (it broke recently), but was thinking about getting a smart tv to watch it on. Am I going to need multiple accounts one for each device? If so screw that honestly.

Ive started just buying the things I want to watch, ripping them, and hosting them on my NAS. I watch little enough its cheaper for me honestly.

I cancelled my Netflix over that BS practice. Figured other services would follow suit at some point since not enough people stood up to Netflix over it.

It has been interesting to see Netflix go from tweeting in support of sharing passwords to being the pioneer of password sharing crackdowns.

Gone are the days of trading streaming services with friends. I mean that was technically a TOS violation, but in my small group of friends at the time I traded my NHL game center live account for Netflix. Traded WWE Network for MLB.tv.

Obviously you take these actions to the extreme and here things are.

Streaming is about to die off with these nonsense. It was already bad enough with the oversaturated market with little to none diverse quality programming. With companies starting to do this now, it's going to be the nail in the coffin. It will soon be a niche service.

Funny enough, cable is about to make a comeback.

Disney+ is the easiest sub to drop for anyone without kids. All their shows suck shit except for Andor.

As is always the case the limitations aren't really explained well. I was already not renewing my disney+ but I would definitely cancel after this announcement. Honestly, its better to sail the seven seas at this point, all the functionality and a larger library awaits.

I think that Disney will make profit over something like this. Especially in households with kids in it, my daughter loves to watch a lot of the shows that are exclusively on Disney Plus. What I don't see is something like Paramount + or Peacock making profit if they also go this route as well because they hold such a small market share.
