Just finished the first episode and yup this is definitely a The Boys spinoff lol

It weirdly reminds me of a more fucked up Sky High

Yeah I'm already hooked after first episode

It's so fucked up but in a good way

Some likeable characters

And yes fucked up sky high is a good short description

Nice I can watch it on November 3rd when the season is available.

Yes, and this shit only underlines how fucked up Vought really is

I heard the comics get deep into vaught stuff

Honestly I gave up at some point

There was just something too nasty about the comics.

Don't get me wrong the show is pretty bad too. But it had humor and stuff to balance it out.

Comic just felt dark and dirty. Without lighter moments.

They had them all at the library so I didn't have to spend my money on them

Oh shit that's today. To late for me now but I'll catch it tomorrow.

Cool. I'll participate later then and avoid this topic till then. I do like a little chunk of episodes up front and the rest weekly. Feels like a decent compromise between the binge and weekly model.

This show's definitely different in the sense that whereas most of the characters in The Boys are unlikable assholes, most of the main cast here is fairly likable

Yeah I watched first tonight

Maybe watch other 2 on Sunday

Gonna be too busy next couple nights

First they announce new episodes of Naruto part 1, now they're making more Pokemon Black and White anime?
What's next, new season of classic Inuyasha (not the sequel)?

The TV show and the comics are nothing alike. And that's good.

Yup. It's basically about Supes going to college with some shady shit going on in the background regarding Vought (because of course). Takes place after the end of 3rd season of The Boys

I am about ready for the end of Homelander. As said his character is getting played out and its only seems like plot armor he has no actual weakness.

I only had time to watch the first episode. That's the problem when multiple episodes/entire seasons get all dropped at once. I have no time or desire to binge everything at once so I'm unable to contribute to the conversation because people that binge everything right away start putting spoilers for later episodes and by the time I do catch up nobody is talking about it anymore.

As for the first episode, it definitely felt like The Boys. I hadn't watched any of the trailers so I didn't know what to expect. I like most of the cast although the blonde girlfriend was the weakest (her first line was so bad)

It does seem like they're building towards him getting taken out. But who replaces him? As the big scary god-like villain?

Yeah I'm not sure about blonde girl either

But we don't know much about her character yet. They have time to make her interesting

I'm sure being able to control people has made her a nutjob. They can do a lot with the character

At the very least, I definitely see Ashley helping The Boys take down Vought (probably dying in the process)

they should just rename the series The Girls because only the women are good

I just finished the third episode These kids are scaring me I like them all but damn they make horror movie tier decision making

Overall Im really liking it.

The creators are still very much over-the-top, unique, etc

I was expecting something, but that wasn't it.

This is fantastic so far, didn't even realize it was coming until about a week ago. Pleasantly surprised.

That's highly unlikely with how deranged he is. In the comics the last boss is Billy himself after going fully obsessive so, unless they start making up there own bad guys they are running out of room with where the show can go really.

I'm surprised to see all the homelander hate. I guess I get it because a main villain being the same for going into 4 seasons. But season 3 finally showed he wasn't untouchable and could be hurt.

Of course the biggest threats to homelander are now out of the picture so he may stick around. I still like seeing him around but also hope the show in general wraps up in the next season or 2 to keep it from overstaying its welcome.

Yeah thats fair. I think keeping it mostly separate and focusing on the characters of the show is good.
