It honestly tastes really, really good. The heat snuck up on me, and about a minute or two after I finished eating, my tongue was definitely on fire. A little sip of cold water quelled it immediately, but as soon as the water was swallowed the heat came back.

The strong burn started to subside after ~10 minutes and I ate a second pack the next night. Roughly the same experience, but I was more prepared for it that time.

I love the consistency of the noodles and the sauce is flavorful. I'll definitely be trying some other (less spicy) flavors from the same brand next time I go shopping for food on Amazon.

Also a lot more calories on top of it, which is why I'm not doing milk. Water works fine, just doesn't last as long. The good part is that the water completely nullifies all the heat for as long as I keep it held against my tongue. That makes it pretty easy to ride it out without suffering too much.

I typically add some salt free chicken bouillon to give it some flavor. Good stuff.

The carbonara flavor is Samyang's best spicy chicken ramen. It's nowhere near as spicy as their main buldak stuff, but it's damn delicious.

I don't have to break out the bottle of milk unless I'm doing their 3x spicy buldak, but since that one's not really available much in America outside of paying a premium on import, once was enough for that flavor.

Yeah, I was just looking into that after Mew mentioned it above. I didn't know there was a 3x. I might try it sometime, but the 5 pack on Amazon is like $30 which is a lot.

I was also recommended to try the spicy curry buldak, one of my friends swears by it. I'm very pleased with the brand's overall serving size, texture, etc., so I'm definitely going to explore the offerings more.

My gf isn't so much into a spice overload, but she's very tolerant of powerful flavors. For example, she eats raw jalapenos dipped in mustard, which just seems...insane to me, too lol

Yeah my wife is Singapore raised half Indian half Filipino. My house is a constant hazardous material site in the kitchen.

I've not been able to find the 3x spicy here in Canada and I'm not paying the ridiculous prices they cost from like 3rd party sellers on Amazon or something. Not that I really need to, 2x tastes good and I can always heat it up by adding some reaper hot sauce to it.

I've not tried the curry one, but I've had most of the other Samyang flavors and there's really not a bad one in the lot. I'll look into picking up the curry one next time I'm at the Asian markets.

I blame people on YouTube and TikTok who eat it as some spice challenge. It's not even THAT hot but it sure does drive up prices.

I tried that extra spicy Tapatio ramen and it was tolerable until taking some cold water because, well, the brief relief actually compounds the next bite when it's brought back.
