I do not want a 4000 lb vehicle on flimsy looking jackstands right above me.

Yes. Take it to a shop and have them get underneath it instead. Problem solved

I use milk crates when I do mine. Flimsy jack stands should be no problem.

That's why I prefer using my metal ramps. Much safer,I also still put a concrete block beside me.

If youre asking that question, youre not qualified to do it yourself. Youre not going to save any money if you break something else. Just take it to jiffylube

Use a shopvac to suck all the oil out.

Or use a few thousand paper towels.

I would certainly recommend investing in some ramps for your car.

This is why I change my MC oil but not my car....too much work to do a car. MC is like a 5 minute process and I can see everything by just bending down to look.

ive seen people roll the car over some thick planks which lifts it enough to work on and is sturdy enough to not kill you

I use ramps to get underneath mine. I also replaced the drain plug with a Fumoto valve so I just slide the tray for collecting the dirty oil under, flip it open, and walk away for awhile while it drains out. Once its been drained, I flip the valve closed and slide the tray out. Overall Im only spending like 30 seconds under the car (the oil filter on my car is top mounted so is very easy to change)

I would just lay under my old truck and not even have to use jacks or anything to lift it up.
