I'm probably nerdy relative to the average populace but I feel like I'm much less nerdy than the average person I interact with daily.

Which makes me not consider myself one.

I'm not educated enough to be a nerd. I'm firmly a geek.

Im definitely a nerd, and I love it and am proud of who I am and what I like. Many of my 34 year old peers are homeless drug addicts with like 6 kids from 6 women, meanwhile im just excited about the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake.

For some reason I call myself a geek and call my fiance a nerd. I am not sure she appreciates that distinction.

Oh yeah let me clarify, im a nerd when it comes to having nerdy and/or childish hobbies and interests that im passionate about. I do have a wife, daughter, friends and a normal social life. I dont equate nerd with having no friends or not getting laid. Plenty of incel Trumpers who claim to be into manly shit are definitely friendless and dont get laid.

I didn't realize there was such a deciding line between a geek and a nerd.

Im a nerd in that I like games and superheroes and reading. Thats about it really.

Definitely consider myself a nerd.

History is and always will be of great interest to me. I love art and used to draw often in my spare time. Anime and games are great motivators for me in general. I dabble in vtubers and other things just out of basic curiosity.

I also have a healthy social life as a result of my nerdiness, so that's a plus.

I don't really think of myself as a stereotypical nerd really.

I'm not a big gamer, at most I dabble in casual games these days.
I've never been particularly obsessive of my education at any stage.
I'm mostly passionate about music, photography and the outdoors.

For some people the bar for nerd is pretty low though, simply using a desktop, wearing glasses and working online is enough.

Honestly I try not to internalize stereotypes as identity, positive or negative.
