Guy works hard and is well organized. He fixes some things. Burning question is does he know a furnace is backing up into my home and concealing it in a 3 flat building subdivided into 6 apartments?

I have an air purifier calibrated to read CO2 ppm and VOC ppb. Its readouts corresponds to my being terribly ill and sleepy just as temps go below 70 at night. Carbon Dioxide above 1000 ppm and VOC above 1100ppb.

I tell the manager that a furnace is backing up into my home. He sends someone over (a day later)

The assistant shows up, listens to me and says a professional will come over. Later that afternoon I am handed 2 Carbon Monoxide detectors.

I get back to the manager and spell out Carbon Dioxide and he demands that I tell him what causes Carbon Dioxide.

I just told him. I had 2 years of science in junior high. A chemistry with lab in HS and summer program, chemistry classes in college and I have an interest.

But combustion is just basic.

The shut down on communication is also suspicious.

I would always assume incompetence before malice until proven otherwise. Generally speaking in building maintenance, a lot of attention is given over to carbon monoxide, very little if any is given to carbon dioxide.

I am reasonably certain if the furnace is backing up into your unit the carbon monoxide detectors would be going off like crazy too as carbon monoxide is a byproduct of incomplete combustion.

Why have I seen you make like 12 topics about the air quality in your home?

Because you cannot count to twelve.

Air Purifier!

Air Purifier!

High end air purifier plus another decent one in a small apartment. Mila Cares and a Whispure 510.

I want to get to the bottom of this so instead of going to bed like a good lil CE'r. I am sitting out in the yard monitoring my readout.

I turned off the Whispure510 and I turned off the fan of the Mila Cares. AQI has gone up to 12.6. CO2 812 ppm VOC 335ppb. It is the particulate count driving up the AQI.

CO still 0ppm so the air purifiers have nothing to do with it being 0

Seriously? AQI 12.6

AQI is oscillating. 10.1, 18.2

Nice.

Around the world, dirty air is behind 7 million early deaths annually more than AIDS, diabetes and traffic accidents combined.

Get some plants if you are worried this much over carbon dioxide or even carbon monoxide. Open up a window or two.

Glad to hear you volunteer to place pothos in public school classrooms. You deserve a medal.

Manager has his assistant replacing hot water heater.

Reality check.

What does a hot water heater have to do with

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/0/4/5/AACsDqAAE4Bd.png

Is the reasoning here:

There is a problem
We fixed something we were planning to fix
Therefore problem fixed

?

Is a hot water heater even running in the wee hours in the morning? The CO2, VOC go up between 2 and 3 am.

* * *

3 flat/ 6 units. Rear of building had a stack of 3 furnaces. I suspect that there is 1 pipe going up to the outside for all 3 apartments.

How are others not sick you ask? Sick Americans see their doctor. Doctor gives them paper to take to CVC. They happy, Doc happy. People who do not think are happier but not healthier

I think that if I can set my furnace to permanently be blower on, then I will not get the backup.

So this landlord is a complete idiot? If you had been exposed to carbon monoxide at 1000ppm, you'd be dead within an hour.

Wouldn't you think if the furnace is backing up, the carbon monoxide would be more than 0? What did their detectors say?

I hope you realize I know more about this than you do.

CO has one Oxygen ion per Carbon ion

CO2 has two Oxygen ions per Carbon ion.

All you need to do is tune the furnace for more air

PRESTO SNAPO low CO

This is consistent with the one pipe for all 3 furnaces. There is solid brick wall where the furnaces are so none of them vent to the side.

There is one vent to the roof and a whole bunch of dumbbunnies taking meds for breathing problems and headaches

Good thing I took screen shots of my readouts. This morning the numbers are acceptable and much improved. I would not know it has improved without the record. ( It still feels unpleasant. )
